This amazing family chose an equally amazing location, the Flint Hills National golf course. They are members and spend a lot of time as a family there together. It is so wonderful to be able to capture family memories in a place that has so many happy memories for a family. It was also gorgeous as the fall colors where out in full splendor. Fall in Kansas doesn't last as long nor is it usually as vibrant as the fall colors in more northern areas. The three sisters are growing up so fast and have changed so much since I first met them!

Since we were at a golf course, their dad asked if we could take some photos with everyone in the sand trap. I love it when dads get involved in the sessions! Its so often the mom who coordinates everything. It was a refreshing change to have the dad suggestion something with the added value of it being really creative!

These sisters are so lucky to have one another. I know as the years grow they will enjoy having photos to look back at their youth! Aren't their outfits gorgeous? Mom did a great job coordinating everyone.

This image speaks to me so much. As they celebrate their present lives with a family portrait session, they walk towards their future together.

This wonderful family has been one of my biggest supporters since the very beginning. These trio of boys have grown up so much since I first met them all! It was a warm Sunday afternoon when we all met up for their yearly photo session. Their mom had asked for a brick backdrop so I found a wonderful vintage backdrop for our autumn session. These boys are dino crazy so their mom brought some of their favorite prehistoric buddies to include their pictures.

This adorable family was photographed on one of the few humid days we had in August. We headed out to our local community park to photograph these cuties! I had asked the mom if she was interested in including any items that have sentimental value. They brought a family heirloom a chair that has been in the mom's family for several generations. They also included some toys that the kids are fond of...the little boy was quite fond of a certain red race car that has headlined his own movie! Adorable!

My most favorite sessions are the ones where sentimental items or themes are included. As I've learned with my own two little ones, those early years are the hardest but they do go the fastest. It is so important to get a few images with those items to preserve the legacy that is your family's past.

Cherishing those moments will warm your heart when you revisit your family photos in years to come!
